Calm II deals with the virtue of landscape and the question in how far photography can open up physical and emotional states. For this, it focuses on the beginnings of the portrayal of landscape and understands landscape as an active mental process that one has to admit to and that only exists through one´s expectations.
While it investigates on this process, Calm II creates its own aesthetic of landscape that allows the observer to anticipate this process himself.
